If you’ve been to a Bulls game, you know his voice. The Behind the Bulls feature series wraps for the 2023 season with a focus on Bulls Public Address Announcer Tony Riggsbee.

“Two things I always wanted to do was work in baseball and work in broadcasting, and I’ve gotten a chance to do both for most of my adult life,” Riggsbee told DBBC Video & Digital Production Manager Patrick Norwood in the profile.

Riggsbee grew up going to the Bulls games in the old ballpark in the 1960s.

“I want to do the best job I can every day.  I love this game,” he said.

Behind the Bulls gives a ‘behind the curtain” look at the folks who keep the ballpark running like a well-oiled machine.  Norwood said fans see players, coaches and on-field announcers at the DBAP, but he wanted to shine a light on the hard-working staffers who are not in the spotlight.

The monthly series appears on all Durham Bulls Social Media platforms.
