The final concert of American Tobacco’s September series takes place tonight, Wednesday, September 27, 2023. Bluegrass duo Darin and Brooke Aldridge will play under the Lucky Strike Water Tower as part of 2023 Duke Arts at American Tobacco, a monthlong collaboration between American Tobacco and Duke Arts Presents, formerly known as Duke Performances. The music begins at 6:30pm.
Unique vocal talent, accomplished songwriting and commanding instrumental skills are just a few of Darin and Brooke Aldridge’s gifts. Brooke is a four-time consecutive winner for Female Vocalist of the Year for the International Bluegrass Music Association and together with their band, they were nominated for 2021 Vocal Group of the Year.
Their latest album, This Life We’re Livin,’ is a warm, cohesive collection that takes you on a journey into the lives and story of Darin and Brooke. It features original standouts, including “Grand Ole Circle,” “Livin’ Mama’s Dream,” and “My Life’s Living Me,” which offer a clear-eyed commentary on the joys and challenges of their musical success.
This North Carolina-based duo to Durham is the perfect way to end the concert series and segue to the IBMA Bluegrass Live! in Raleigh later this week, with an evening of unforgettable bluegrass at American Tobacco Campus.
