RALEIGH, N.C. — 6-27-25 — Capitol Broadcasting Company is proud to announce the appointment of Heather Gray as Vice President and General Manager of WRAL-TV and FOX 50. This marks a transformative and historic moment for the organization—bringing WRAL-TV, New Media, and Digital Solutions under one unified leadership structure for the first time.
A CBC veteran since 2017, Gray has steadily ascended through key leadership roles, including Creative Services Director, Brand Director, Station Manager, and most recently, Interim GM. With this promotion, she becomes the first woman in WRAL-TV’s history to hold the role of Vice President and General Manager.
“Heather’s leadership is rooted in vision, authenticity, and a deep commitment to our mission and people,” said Jimmy Goodmon, CEO of Capitol Broadcasting Company.
Gray brings more than two decades of local media expertise to her new position. Prior to joining CBC, she led marketing and programming at KPNX/12 News in Phoenix, where she helped launch their digital brand and built one of the market’s first integrated social media news teams.
She currently serves on the boards of the United Arts Council and the Local Media Association and is a former Chair of the NBC Station Marketing Council—further demonstrating her dedication to the growth and impact of local journalism.
As she assumes this role, Gray will oversee cross-platform strategy and operations, steering the organization through a rapidly evolving media landscape with innovation, stability, and purpose.
