Bulls On Return As Hosting Sponsor for Bull Moon Ride in 2009
|
The Durham Bulls recently announced the ball club will again serve as hosting sponsor for the 2009 Bull Moon Ride, a night time bicycle ride through Downtown Durham benefiting Habitat for Humanity of Durham. The Bulls also served as hosting sponsor for the inaugural ride in 2008.
“The Bull Moon Ride is a great event for Downtown Durham and Habitat for Humanity of Durham,” Durham Bulls General Manager Mike Birling said, “our employees who participated in last season’s ride had a lot of fun and I’m confident more people will continue to participate each year.”
This year’s event is scheduled for Saturday, July 18th beginning on Blackwell St at the main gates of the Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Last year’s inaugural Bull Moon Ride featured 200 cyclists, a number Habitat for Humanity of Durham’s Roxanne Hall Little believes will grow this year.
“The ride allows cyclists of all abilities to see beautiful Durham sites by moonlight and raise money for homes, hope and community. Habitat is pleased to partner with the Bull’s for this great community event.”
Habitat for Humanity transforms lives and communities by making home ownership possible in partnership with people who care. Founded in 1976, Habitat builds homes for working families whose living conditions are unsound, unsafe, or overcrowded. Habitat builds new homes and sells them at no interest. The no-interest loan, as well as donations of time and money, allows Habitat to offer affordable mortgage payments to families who don’t qualify for traditional mortgages.
