Former WRAL-TV Anchor Charlie Gaddy (left) & current WRAL-TV Anchor Debra Morgan will team up for a special presentation at the Raleigh Museum on Sat, Jan 24th. |
WRAL-TV has a new anchor team, at least for one afternoon. The past and present will collide on Saturday, January 24, 2009, as WRAL-TV Anchor/Reporter Debra Morgan appears with retired WRAL-TV Anchor Charlie Gaddy at the Raleigh Museum in downtown Raleigh. The program will begin at 2pm. The event is free and open to the public.
“Two Views on the News: An Afternoon with Charlie Gaddy & Debra Morgan” is a part of the Museum’s exhibit “The [R]evolution of Media: The history of newspaper, radio and television in Raleigh.”
The Raleigh Museum touts, “learn more about your favorite news anchors past and present with a his & hers perspective.” Morgan & Gaddy will talk about their news experiences, the biggest stories they’ve covered and how the industry and WRAL have changed over the years. The anchors will then answer questions from the audience.
Gaddy retired from WRAL-TV in 1994 after a 24-year career. He was part of the first male-female anchor team in the 1980s with Bobbie Battista. Morgan has been with WRAL since 1993.
The exhibit, “The [R]evolution of Media: The history of newspaper, radio and television in Raleigh,” will be open for 18 months.
