Diamond View II has won Downtown Durham Inc’s 2008 award for Outstanding New Construction Project. |
Diamond View II only opened for business this past summer, but the downtown Durham building is already winning awards. The class “A,” five-story structure won the Downtown Durham Inc’s (DDI) Outstanding New Construction Project at the organization’s annual meeting on Tuesday, December 2, 2008.
Construction on Diamond View II began in 2007, at its location adjacent to the Durham Bulls Athletic Park. The 150,000 square foot Diamond View II boasts balcony views of the Bulls field and sits close to the brand new Durham Performing Arts Center (DPAC) on the other side.

The 2008 DDI Awards were presented at the DPAC, giving attendees a chance to marvel at both new structures.
Diamond View II faces the Bulls’ third base line, while its companion, Diamond View I, sits behind center field.
Key Source Commercial Bank, Diamond View II’s first tenant, moved in on June 4, 2008.
