WRAL.com Honored with Regional Murrow Award

WRAL.com has long been a leader in local television websites, and now the site has another prestigious Edward R. Murrow Award. The Radio-Television News Directors Association (RTNDA) recently announced WRAL.com won a Regional Edward. R. Murrow Award for Best Website.
The RTNDA received 3,459 regional entries this year, and judges awarded winners in 14 categories. Regional winners automatically go on to compete in the national awards competition, to be judged in June. The national awards will be presented in New York in October.
The Edward R. Murrow awards, named for the famed and legendary broadcaster, have been presented for outstanding achievements in electronic journalism since 1971.
WRAL competes in Region 8, which includes Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee & West Virginia.
WRAL.com previously won the prestigious regional award in 2006 and in 2001, the first year the category was included.
