WRAL-TV Anchor/Reporter Ken Smith went to Washington, DC, in March, but not on assignment for WRAL-TV. Smith went to our nation’s capitol to receive the Association for Career and Technical Education Image Award during the organization’s National Policy Seminar in Alexandria, Virginia.
Smith’s parents flew in from their home, his childhood home, in the British Virgin Islands for the ceremony.
ACTE honored Smith for bringing positive attention to the career and technical education field through his volunteer work with the School-to-Career Initiative in Wake County for the past eight years. He is the inaugural recipient of the Image award.
