Environmental scientists say global warming is increasing the average temperature of the Earth causing polar ice caps to melt and ocean temperatures to rises. Left unchecked they say the world will experience changes in agricultural yields, reduced summer stream flows, species extinctions, and more intense storms.
There is ongoing political and public debate regarding what action should be taken to reduce greenhouse gases and minimize these threats.
In “Changing Climates, Changing Attitudes” the North Carolina News Network reveals how this phenomenon may affect North Carolina. The six-part radio series examines how the state’s utilities are responding, why faith based communities have jumped into the debate, and what opportunities there may be the state’s farmers.
WRAL-FM, WCMC-FM, and affiliates of the North Carolina News Network will air the series the weekend of June 22nd, 23rd, and 24th.
