Pitcher John Webb led the Durham Bulls to end their 2005 season with a victory.

Durham wrapped up the 2005 season with a five-game win streak, routing Charlotte 10-4 on Labor Day in a tidy one-hour and 49 minutes.
John Webb (10-6) earned the victory, hurling the Bulls’ first complete game of the season. Webb also became the first 10-game winner for Durham since Carlos Reyes won 10 games in the 2003 Championship season.
Webb got all he would need in the fourth when Durham scored five runs, batting around after a Charlotte error gave the Bulls an opportunity. B.J. Upton singled in the first run, Tim Laker added an RBI base hit, and Kevin Cash followed with a run scoring double, before Paul Hoover capped the rally with a two-run single to right.
Luis Ordaz highlighted a 12-hit attack with three hits, three runs scored and an RBI. Upton finished as the league leader in hits, walks and runs scored.
Durham finished the year 65-79, good for second place in the South Division. The five-game win streak to end the year was Durham’s first this year.
The Bulls scored double digits in runs in their last three games, scoring 55 runs in the final five games of the year.
