Hurricane Katrina has devastated parts of Louisiana, Mississippi & Alabama. |

WRAL-TV, FOX50, the Durham Bulls, American Tobacco Project and MIX101.5 WRAL-FM will partner for Operation Storm Relief, a daylong fundraising drive using three different collection points. People are asked to bring cash or checks made payable to the American Red Cross to any of the following:
- WRAL-TV collection point at Raleigh’s Triangle Towne Center in the Dillard’s parking lot across from Dick’s Sporting Goods.
- FOX50/Durham Bulls/American Tobacco collection point in front of the Diamond View Building at 512 S. Mangum Street in Durham
- MIX101.5 WRAL-FM collection point at Crabtree Valley Mall parking lot between Sears and Hecht’s on the corner of Glenwood Avenue and Creedmoor Road

Sunday, September 4 4:30 – 8:00pm Pops in the Park |
Collecting cash/check donations at WRAL’s 26th Annual “Pops in the Park” concert hosted by the Town of Cary at the beautiful Booth Amphitheater at Regency Park. Gates open at 4:30pm. The free concert, performed by the North Carolina Symphony featuring Mike Cross, starts at 7 pm. Cash or checks made out to the American Red Cross will be accepted from 4:30-8:00pm at the WRAL tent or the Amphitheatre’s Guest Services. |
Tuesday, September 6 7:00 – 7:30pm WRAL-TV Telethon |
Live Hurricane relief telethon staffed by local celebrities. Taking donations for the American Red Cross and outlining other ways to contribute to the relief effort. Live half-hour broadcast starts at 7pm, phones open until 10pm. |
Thursday, September 8 Food Drive |
Collecting food and supplies in partnership with the North Carolina Food Bank at multiple locations across the region. For locations, times and a list of items to donate, click here. |
