Raleigh Sports Council Visits Durham
|
The Greater Raleigh Sports Council ventured to Durham last month for its quarterly luncheon at the American Tobacco complex and an exclusive, on-field batting practice session with Bulls manager Bill Evers. Baseball was, of course, the theme. Downtown Durham not only boasts the Bulls, but the city is headquarters for USA Baseball and Baseball America.
Luncheon speakers (l to r) were Allan Simpson, editor-in-chief of Baseball America; Paul Seiler, CEO of USA Baseball; retired major league pitchers Paul Shuey and Greg Harris, both live in Wake County. |
The group readies for batting practice. Sports Council chairman Bill Dawkins, president of Regions Bank, stands on the left with his glove and Bulls cap.
