Sheri Logan Named to the Board of the NC Coalition Against Domestic Violence
|
WRAL-FM Personality Sheri Logan |
Sheri Logan, from Bill & Sheri in the Mornings on MIX 101.5 WRAL-FM, has been asked to be an honorary member of the advisory board for the NC Coalition Against Domestic Violence.
The North Carolina Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NCCADV) is a private, non-profit organization that provides support services to the 90 domestic violence crisis centers across North Carolina. Their services include training, membership support in the form of technical assistance and a lending library, prevention education, faith initiatives, a web site, public policy initiatives and a bi-annual conference.
NCCADV received a generous grant for $50,000 from Verizon Wireless to partner together so that they can improve awareness about domestic violence in North Carolina and the services of the Coalition. The grant from Verizon Wireless will allow NCCADV to provide training on domestic violence and media relations for both the media and domestic violence service providers, create a statewide public awareness campaign on domestic violence, and promote awareness about NCCADV and it many services to the community.
The advisory board consists of around 12 individuals from all over North Carolina who have expertise in domestic violence, public relations or both. Logan was asked to be a member of the honorary board due to her media position and her involvement with Interact last August.
Thanks to WRAL-FM’s Paige Ellis for this capcom story.
