Musical Acts will once again make their presence felt at the ballpark in ’05. The Key West Band will bring their musical stylings to Parrothead Night at the Ballpark (June 23rd) and The Long Bay Symphony will once again perform on the marquee night of the year, “Pops at the Park” (July 2nd). This year the Symphony will be joined by special guests to blend beach music into the extremely popular combination of baseball, symphony and fireworks.
A strong line-up of giveaways, a popular tradition at Coastal Federal Field, will continue this summer. Fans can look forward to taking home top-notch giveaway items including a series of five collectible Wobbleheads – that’s right, not bobbleheads, but Wobbleheads. As if the series of Wobblehead giveaways wasn’t unique enough, the Pelicans will also be treating fans to Dinger “The Home Run Dog” Bobbletails (June 16th), Coastal Federal Field stadium replicas (June 21st) and Glow-In-The-Dark Baseballs (July 2nd).
An all-star cast of special guest appearances at the ballpark includes: Crocodile Rocks Dueling Pianos on Opening Night (April 7th), Bill Camp & America’s Best Frisbee Dogs at Dinger’s 7th Annual Bark at the Park (April 20th), Myron Noodleman “The New Clown Prince of Baseball” (June 15th), the World Famous “Zooperstars” (July 1st), Jimmy Neutron (August 20th) and more.
Theme nights and special events play a big part in this year’s Pelicans promo schedule. Fans will be taken back in time to the 1980’s for Retro Night – “A Tribute to the 80’s” (April 8th). A World Record attempt will take place, as the fans will be invited to shatter a Guinness World Record (June 7th). In July, the Pelicans will go “around the world” for a weekend with Festival de Beisbol – “A celebration of Hispanic-American heritage on the Grand Strand” (July 10th) and Scotland Night (July 11th).
Must-see special events include the 2nd Annual Women’s Baseball Clinic (April 30th), Educational Kid’s Day (May 25th), 2nd Annual “Play Catch” Fishing Tournament (June 18th), Charity Pro-Am Golf Tournament (June 20th) and the return of Team USA Baseball (August 2nd & 3rd).
