The Fowler Building will soon house a Mellow Mushroom restaurant. |
As more and more businesses move their employees into their newly renovated office space in the American Tobacco Historic District, restaurants are signing on to come help feed the crowds. So far, five different eateries have signed on to lease space in the 16-acre campus in downtown Durham.
Starbucks will occupy approximately 2,000 square feet in the Crowe Building with an opening date set for early March. To help give workers a needed morning jolt Starbucks is already operating a kiosk on the campus. The Mellow Mushroom will also soon have a location to serve hungry employees working in the American Tobacco district. Mellow Mushroom is currently upfitting approximately 5,000 feet of space in the Fowler Building for an opening date in the spring.
Tyler ’s Restaurant and Taproom and Symposium Café have also leased space and are currently working towards opening dates in the spring.
Café Zen, an Asian Bistro and Sushi Bar, recently signed on as the latest restaurant to lease space at American Tobacco. Café Zen will occupy approximately 2,000 square feet in the lobby level of the Crowe Building, and plans to open in late May.
