Bulls’ Steve Barnes Tapped To Announce All-Star Games |
Voice of the Bulls Steve Barnes |
The baseball players at the Durham Bulls aren’t the only ones cited for excellence at the ballpark. The Pacific Coast League tapped Steve Barnes, the voice of the Durham Bulls, to be part of the two man announcing team for the 16th Annual Triple-A AllStar game in July. The International League selected the Memphis Red Birds play-by-play man Tom Stocker to round out the two-man team. The game will take place at the Memphis Autozone Park on July 16, 2003.
The game will be broadcast across the country on the Sporting News Radio affiliates and internationally on the Armed Forces Radio Network. The game and broadcasts begin at 6:45pm central time.
Barnes has been a part of the Durham Bulls announcing team for a decade, missing only one game since the Bulls moved to their current location in 1995. Barnes also serves as the announcer for the Duke Women’s Basketball team.
Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Red Barons manager Marc Bombard will coach the IL All-Stars against the PC League team. Norfolk Tides manager Bobby Floyd, Syracuse SkyChiefs manager Omar Malave and Charlotte Knights trainer Scott Johnson fill the rest of the All-Star coaching slate.
Players for the Triple-A All Star roster will be announced on Thursday, June 26.
