WRAL-TV Presents 12th Annual Coats For The Children |
WRAL-TV is working hard to provide warm winter clothing for Triangle families with the 12th Annual Coats For The Children campaign and telethon. Beginning Saturday, November 18, WRAL-TV began collecting warm winter clothing and donations at the Studio and at area Jiffy Lube and Alltel locations. The daylong “Coats For the Children Telethon” will take place on WRAL-TV on Friday, December 8, and the campaign will run through December 31.
WRAL-TV has run the Coats for the Children campaign since 1989 and has collected over 60,000 coats and raised over $500,000 to provide winter clothing for Salvation Army families. Last year alone, the station and its community partners received 5,000 donated coats and over $80,000 in donations. |

The public can donate new or used coats; this year there is a particular need for larger sizes for teens and adults. Other winter clothing can be donated as well, including used gloves and hats and new underwear, t-shirts and socks. The clothing donations are being collected at the TV station as well as Jiffy Lube and Alltel locations in Raleigh, Cary, Durham, Chapel Hill, Fayetteville, Spring Lake, Rocky Mount, Wilson, Goldsboro & Sanford.
Monetary donations can be mailed to the station via check or can be charged online at WRAL OnLine. Donations will also be taken during the daylong telethon on WRAL-TV. Telethon operators will be available from 6:00am til midnight or anytime on WRAL OnLine.
