“I love Radiothon because it reminds me of the great strength of the human spirit. And, I see proof: miracles do exist.”
– MIX Morning Show Co-Host Lynda Loveland
MIX 101.5 is getting ready to send a very special early Valentine. CBC’s adult contemporary radio station is about to launch the 20th annual MIX 101.5 Radiothon for Duke Children’s Hospital. MIX on-air talent will broadcast live from the lobby of the facility all day on February 11 – 12, 2014.
Over the past 19 years, MIX has raised $15,378,416 to support the hospital. Patients, parents, hospital staff and local celebrities all team up with MIX for the annual event.
“I love Radiothon because it reminds me of the great strength of the human spirit,” said MIX Morning Show Co-Host Lynda Loveland. “And, I see proof: miracles do exist.”
Staffers will spend the two days conducting live interviews and playing special musical montages created especially for the event.
“Radiothon. One powerful word that brings so many emotions and experiences,” said MIX Traffic Supervisor/Asst Morning Show Producer Vanna Fox. “Every year, Radiothon reminds me of my belief that the reason I got the job at MIX was because it brought me to Duke Children’s Hospital & Health Center. I think of all the babies I have held over the years—some I have watched grow up, and others whom I have shed many tears at their passing.”
Fox has a special place in her heart for Radiothon and the kids at Duke.
“The opportunity to share Duke Children’s story never stops moving me. It’s an amazing experience to see when others ‘get it’ and understand the value of making a difference in a child’s life. It makes all my effort worthwhile.”
Join Loveland, Fox and the entire MIX staff in supporting the kids at Duke by tuning in to WRAL-FM on February 11 – 12. Find out other ways you can help on the MIX 101.5 Radiothon page.
