WCMC wins Large Market Station of the Year and Personality of the Year
99.9 The Fan (WCMC-FM) was presented with the North Carolina Association of Broadcasters’ 2015 Radio Station of the Year award for Large Market on Tuesday, June 16 at the NCAB Convention. The Convention was held at the Grandover Resort and Convention Center in Greensboro, NC.
“I am so proud of our team for all the efforts to bring home this award. We have worked hard to create this product and hope to continue to provide the best sports coverage and entertainment to our radio listeners in the Triangle,” says Brian Maloney, General Manager. “Everyone has helped contribute to winning this award. The Programming, Sales, Promotions, Production and Business Departments have all strived for success and each one is due credit for The Fan winning.”
In addition to winning Station of the Year, WCMC’s Adam and Joe Show took home the NCAB’s Radio Personality/Team of the Year award for Large Market. Adam and Joe have been in the weekday, 3-7pm, slot for five years now on WCMC-FM. They have been a team for almost 12 years total.
“I’ll toss aside the self-deprecating humor, which is how we typically deal with any sort of recognition, in favor of thanking everyone at Capitol Broadcasting for allowing us to be…well…us. And an even bigger thanks to the listeners, who continue to spend their afternoons with 99.9FM The Fan,” said Joe Ovies.
“Honestly, I’m just happy that people listen and that my key card to get in the building still works. That they let us do this every day is a borderline miracle,” said Adam Gold. Gold was on-site to accept the award on behalf of the show.
