Longest Home Stretch of 2015 Features Packed Promotional Lineup
The Durham Bulls return home on Friday, July 31 to begin a ten-game homestand featuring visits from the Gwinnett Braves, Indianapolis Indians, and Louisville Bats. The lengthiest home stretch of 2015 opens the final full month of the regular season, which will see the Bulls play 21 games at the DBAP in August. The promotional events calendar is headlined by four fireworks shows, Negro League Night, and 2000’s Night.
On Friday, July 31, the Bulls begin a three-game set with the division rival Gwinnett Braves. Triangle Orthopaedic Associates presents the 7:05 p.m. homestand opener, which will feature Friday Night Fireworks, sponsored by Bruce Hill of RE/MAX One Realty. Amica Insurance presents a 6:35 p.m. game on August 1. Another Saturday edition of fireworks, presented by JT’s Landscaping, follows that contest.
Sunday’s series finale against the Atlanta Braves affiliate will feature the Bulls’ annual Negro League Night. Before the game on August 2, twenty local Negro League legends will be honored in an on-field ceremony. Durham’s Negro Leaguers will then sign autographs for fans on the concourse. Following the 5:05 p.m. game presented by Great Clips, Kids Run the Bases thanks to Nature’s Twist.
The Indianapolis Indians then come to Downtown Durham on Monday, August 3 to begin a four-game series. Monday is another Tijuana Flats Ticket Takeover, where Public Safety Personnel (professionals dedicated to law enforcement, fire prevention, fire suppression, and pre-hospital emergency medical services) receive 50% off Terrace View tickets. This offer occurs on the first Monday home game of every month and is only available at the box office, with valid ID required at time of purchase.
On August 4, Bronto Software presents a 7:05 p.m. game with the Triple-A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates. Tuesday’s game is a 2-for-1 ROOsday, where fans can get two Terrace View tickets for the price of one upon showing the Kangaroo Express app at time of purchase. Wednesday, August 5 is Bring a Book Night, presented by Amundi Smith Breeden. Fans who bring a new children’s book to donate will receive a complimentary ticket to that night’s 7:05 p.m. game.
The Indianapolis series wraps with a 7:05 p.m. contest on Thursday, August 6, where the Bulls will become the first sports team to celebrate the turn of the millennium on 2000’s Night. Thursday will also feature $1 concessions, as Bright Leaf hot dogs, soda, and popcorn are just a buck. In addition, Thursdays are College Nights where students can get a Terrace View ticket and $5 in Bulls Bucks for just $11 or an Outfield Reserved ticket for only $5.99 by entering the promo code COLLEGE (and using a valid .edu email address) when purchasing tickets online in advance at durhambulls.com. Finally, fans take advantage of the Blue Cross Blue Shield of NC True Blue Thursday promotion, where they can get a game ticket and exclusive cap for just $11.
On Friday, August 7, the Louisville Bats visit to begin the final series of the lengthy homestand. The 7:05 p.m. game is presented by the NC Peanut Growers Association, where fans who bring a jar of peanut butter to donate will receive a free bag of peanuts. The contest also features Friday Night Fireworks, thanks to Bruce Hill of RE/MAX One Realty. Following fireworks, hundreds of scouts will spend the night in the DBAP outfield for the last Camp Out Night of the season, presented by Great Outdoor Provision Co.
UNC Rex Healthcare presents Field of Hope on Saturday, August 8. Fans can purchase special tickets for $12.99 to help support and raise money for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund, which will receive $5 for each special Field of Hope ticket sold. Fans can purchase Field of Hope tickets online here, using the special offer code PLAY4KAY. The first 1,000 fans to present their Field of Hope tickets at the Rex Mobile Mammography Unit that will be parked in the outfield concourse will receive a free gift. Fireworks will follow the 6:35 p.m. game, thanks to JT’s Landscaping.
The homestand finale on Sunday, August 9 is presented by MercuryGate International. Kids Run the Bases following the 5:05 p.m. game with the top affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds, thanks to Nature’s Twist.
