Frontier to remain exclusive provider of Wi-Fi and internet access at Durham Bulls Athletic Park
The Durham Bulls recently announced that they have signed an agreement with Frontier Communications, (NASDAQ: FTR), a leading provider of broadband Internet, video and phone services, that will extend Frontier’s role as the Bulls’ exclusive telecommunications provider for an additional three years.
Frontier will remain the exclusive provider of telephone, Wi-Fi and Internet access throughout Durham Bulls Athletic Park through the end of the Bulls’ 2018 season. In addition, the extension agreement creates a new role for Frontier as the official sponsor of the Frontier Communications Ticket Office, which is used by fans for at-stadium and online ticket purchases and exchanges.
“The Durham Bulls have been collaborating with Frontier since the 2013 season to provide both our fans and our employees with the best telecommunications access possible, and we are extremely pleased to be extending and enhancing this partnership between our two organizations,” said Chip Allen, director of corporate partnerships for the Bulls. “Wi-Fi Internet access is an important aspect of today’s sports stadium environment, and with all the information and statistics that baseball fans love to keep track of, keeping them connected in the fastest and most reliable way is extremely important.”
The agreement includes a range of marketing vehicles — including a presence on the stadium’s LED ribbon board and signage on both home and away dugouts, the famed Blue Monster outfield fence and Wool E. Bull’s go-cart — that will generate extensive visibility for Frontier.
“We’re thrilled to extend our collaboration with the Durham Bulls for another three years. Durham Bulls Athletic Park provides us with an ideal venue to highlight the Frontier brand, while at the same time demonstrate first-hand our ability to deliver world-class wireless Internet access to the 8,000-plus Bulls fans who pack this wonderful facility game after game,” Frontier Vice President and General Manager Dennis Bloss said. “It’s a great honor for Frontier to provide the cutting-edge technology needed to give visitors to this great ballpark a truly world-class fan experience — and to provide the Bulls organization with the technology tools they need to run a successful business.”
The Durham Bulls open the 2016 International League season on Thursday, April 7 against the Charlotte Knights at the DBAP. Full-season, mini plan and group ticket packages are available now. For more information visit durhambulls.com, the Frontier Communications Ticket Office, or call 919.956.BULL.
