Nine Winners Named in Triangle Tree Challenge

The Coalition to Unchain Dogs took Second Place in the annual contest at American Tobacco. Nine winners in total were honored. |
Nine non-profits earned prizes ranging from cash to experiences to a free public-service announcement campaign in the third annual Triangle Tree Challenge.
The winners were named Saturday night, December 22, 2012, after two weeks of voting by visitors to Durham’s American Tobacco Campus and those who cast their ballot via text.
And the winners are:
- FOX 50 Community First Award Winner: Carolina Donor Services
- DPAC Community Star Award Winner: Trips for Kids Triangle
- Wool E. Bull Prime Cut Award Winner: NC Therapeutic Riding Center
- Northgate Mall’s Santa – Celebrity Choice Award: Converting Hearts Ministry
- Mosca Designs – Celebrity Choice Award: The Healing Place of Wake County
- University Ford/Kia — Celebrity Choice Award: Girls on the Run of the Triangle
- Third Place $1,000 Prize Winner from Text and Online Votes: Carolina Tiger Rescue
- Second Place $2,500 Prize Winner from Text and Online Votes: Coalition to Unchain Dogs
- First Place $5,000 Prize Winner from Text and Online Votes: Best Friend Pet Adoption
