Hey Everybody – Voting has started! So go to FOX50.com and join the party.
The FOX 50 Lip Dub project launched in Super Bowl XLV with an originally produced song and crafty “one-take” camera operation. The spot was designed to encourage high school kids to submit a lip sync video.
As the videos rolled in, the creative services team and FOX 50 staff marveled at how creative many schools had been. They used billboard 100 songs, 8o’s classics, and one school included a song that incorporates the name of their high school.
In all, 38 entries from 33 high schools were submitted. This represents 25 cities in 18 of our DMA counties. The groups put a lot of time and effort into their submissions; from choreography, to staging, blocking, props and participation.
Kevin Kolbe, FOX 50 Creative Services manager said “I was very impressed by the variety of music and concept.”
Voting begins on April 25th and will end on May 13
The school with the most votes will win $10,000 for their school. Second place will win $5,000 and the third place school will walk away with $2,500. The contest was sponsored by the Goodwill Foundation.
“The clients viewed this contest as an overwhelming success. They were so happy with the spot and even more excited to see the school spirit,” said FOX 50 Account Executive Doug Dickman.
Kudos to the entire FOX 50 team – now go watch the videos, and be sure to cast your vote!!
