The National Sportscasters and Sportswriters of America has tabbed veteran NC State play-by-play announcer Gary Hahn as the state’s top sportscaster for 2010

Veteran NC State men’s basketball, football and baseball play-by-play announcer Gary Hahn has been named North Carolina’s Sportscaster of the Year by the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association, NSSA executive director Dave Goren announced Monday, January 10, 2011.
He and Burlington Times-News sports editor Bob Sutton have been chosen as the state’s honorees at the annual award banquet on May 16 in Salisbury, where the NSSA headquarters are located.
At the same time, two longtime play-by-play announcers, Brent Musburger and Bob Uecker, and Boston Globe columnist Bob Ryan will be enshrined in the NSSA Hall of Fame. Also honored at the event will be 2010 National Sportscaster of the Year Mike Tirico of ESPN and 2010 National Sportswriter of the Year Peter King of Sports Illustrated.
Hahn, a 1974 graduate of Butler University, will be among the 110 state broadcasters and sportswriters honored at the 52nd annual awards weekend.
