Sharp Honored With Statewide Award
The North Carolina Society for Human Resources Management (NCSHRM) recently named Capitol Broadcasting Company Human Resources Director Jan Sharp as their Professional of the Year. The announcement was made at the NCSHRM State Conference held October 4-6 in Charlotte.
The NCSHRM Professional of the Year is selected each year from nominees in various chapters across the state.

The award is based on overall achievement and contribution to the HR Profession during the previous 12-18 month period. An Awards and Recognition Committee which is selected by the State Council selects the recipient from among the nominations.
Vicki Price, President of the Raleigh-Wake Human Resources Management Association (RWHRMA) said that, “The award is given to the professional who exemplifies all that we hope to be as HR professionals-commitment, knowledge, involvement and dedication to the profession…[Sharp] is very

deserving of this honor.” The RWHRMA submitted Sharp for the award; Kristy Eubanks, former President of RWHRMA, wrote the nomination. She included in their nomination that, “I believe that Jan’s work in the HR profession and in the HR community is exemplary. She should be recognized as the ‘NC Professional of the Year’ winner.”
Sharp’s career in Human Resources has spanned 15 years. She holds a Lifetime Certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources. She has served in leadership roles in the RWHRMA and on the NC State Council.

The mission for NCSHRM is to provide leadership to support the effective implementation of policies, strategies and objectives consistent with SHRM.
