North Carolina’s First Lady Mary Easley visited the North Carolina News Network studios at 711 Hillsborough to record this week’s edition of North Carolina Report, a half hour public affairs radio program provided to NCNN affiliates statewide.

NC First Lady Mary Easley appeared on NCNN during the last week of July.

Burce Ferrell & Mary Easley
NCNN Host Bruce Ferrell interviewed Easley.

Host Bruce Ferrell questioned Mrs. Easley on her involvement in various issues, including using the role of First Lady to promote immunization, improve health for Latinos, fight underage drinking and improve education. Mrs. Easley is a strong supporter of the Communities in Schools program, in which local communities create customized pre-school or after school programs to assist at risk students.

The program aired on a number of the North Carolina News Network’s affiliates, and on WRAL-FM in Raleigh.

NCNN provides newscasts, sportscasts, weather reports and special programming to about 90 radio stations in North Carolina.

Thanks to NCNN’s Bruce Ferrell for this capcom story.
