NCNN Wins Award For Hurricane Coverage |
The North Carolina News Network came out on top in a competition of statewide networks around the country, receiving the merit award for Best Spot news at the StateNets annual convention in December 2003. NCNN received the award for their coverage of Hurricane Isabel, storm that hit North Carolina hard in September.
NCNN’s coverage included newscasts from the entire NCNN staff the day the hurricane hit, as well as reports from stringers around the state about the damage the storm was causing.
“This is a wonderful honor,” said NCNN News Director Ellen Reinhardt, “because we competed against the newsrooms of all the statewide networks in the country!”
