 The          judges have now selected two finalists for Gimme the Mike, FOX50’s          Triangle musical talent competition. The second episode aired on Wednesday,          June 9, 2004, at 7:30pm, with Jason Carroll of Franklinton advancing to          the live one-hour show finale.

Carroll          is a 25-year-old operator for a Wake Forest drilling company. Viewers          selected Emily Boyle of Cary as the Wild Card pick for the evening, voting          online after the program aired. She now advances to the Ultimate Wild          Card playoff bracket, online at www.fox50.com          July 1-4. She is an 18-year-old recent graduate of Cary High School.

Gimme          the Mike premiered on Wednesday, June 2, with the judges selecting          Salimah Bryant of Fayetteville as the first finalist. Bryant is a 24-year-old          administrative assistant for the Boys and Girls Club in Fayetteville.          Viewers selected Meghan Lumsden of Raleigh as the evening’s Wild Card.          She is an 18-year-old recent graduate of Broughton High School. 
Each          show features five local singers who have the chance to showcase their          talent for 90 seconds in front of the FOX 50 Gimme the Mike judges          and a live studio audience. Each week, the judges select one lucky contestant          who advances to the live one-hour show finale on July 7th to compete for          the grand prize.
