MIX Recognized for Contribution to the Salvation Army of Wake County
|
The Salvation Army recently honored WRAL-FM for its contribution to the 2004 Christmas Appeal. |
On Tuesday, May 17, 2005, the Salvation Army held their 2005 Annual Appreciation Dinner, which is sponsored by the Wake County Advisory Board. It’s a way for the Salvation Army to say “thank you” to the many generous supporters and volunteers who made their community service possible over the past year. The event played host to more than 250 guests.
WRAL-TV anchor, Bill Leslie, served as the evening’s musical guest. He performed four pieces from his latest release, “Peaceful Journey – A Celebration of North Carolina” with Lorica.

MIX 101.5 WRAL-FM was honored by Major Al Smith for its contribution to the 2004 Christmas Appeal through the “Bill & Sheri Celebrity Bell Ring” last December. The Celebrity Bell Ring raised over $11,500 and collected 132 new toys to benefit The Salvation Army of Wake County’s Christmas Assistance Program.
To end the program, the Salvation Army presented a video of the services they provide to the community. This touching presentation featured AJFF President Barbara Goodman and her thoughts on the wonderful contributions that the Salvation Army provides to Wake County.
