Jason Michael Carroll, winner of FOX 50’s 1st season of Gimme the Mike! plays for the American Tobacco Thursday night with Steel Kickin’.

FOX 50’s 2004 Gimme The Mike! contest winner, Jason Michael Carroll, took to the American Tobacco Campus Amphitheatre stage on Thursday, June 15, 2006 for a night of country music and southern rock.   Close to 300 fans, some sporting cowboy hats, turned out to see this North Carolina native and rising country star perform.

Earlier in the day, Jason Michael Carroll’s Raleigh-Durham Fan Club threw him a surprise 28th birthday party complete with lunch and a guitar-shaped birthday cake.

The concert was emceed by The New 99.9 Genuine Country’s Vince Daniels and attendees were given the chance to win tickets to Brad Paisley’s upcoming concert at Alltel Pavillion at Walnut Creek. The New 99.9 Genuine Country is a co-sponsor of the American Tobacco Campus Summer Concert Series, as is CBC’s Durham television station FOX 50.
