CBS 10 WILM’s DTV Day at Independence Mall

CBS 10 WILM announces Digital Television Day.  The event will be held in the JC Penny wing at Independence Mall on Saturday, August 16, 2008 from 11am until 3pm.   WILM will be hosting this community event to foster awareness and education about the DTV transition.

Engineers will be on hand to answer questions about converter boxes, antenna hookups, and other general information.  The FCC will also be on site to assist customers in applying for converter box coupons. Time Warner Cable will be available to assist in answering questions along with both the North Carolina Association of Broadcasters (NCAB) and the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB).

CBS 10 WILM will be present to discuss their new “Higher Tower, Higher Power” campaign.  With the digital transition, WILM’s footprint will grow significantly with the help of a newer and larger tower.  Stations will also provide demonstrations regarding hurricane preparedness issues as they relate to the DTV transition. A Spanish speaking representative from WILM will be available to answer any questions and to offer information.

Thanks to WILM’s Bethany Watkins for this capcom story.
