Roughly one in ten adults in North Carolina are now unemployed. Retirement funds have been devastated. And an increasing number of families say college plans — not to mention the summer vacation — may be put on hold.
In “Faces of the Recession” the North Carolina News Network examines how the economy has touched families, nonprofits, and the state’s faith-based community.
The six part series follows several individuals as they try to get back on their feet. The program also profiles the work of several North Carolina nonprofits helping the newly jobless make ends meet.
WRAL-FM, WCMC-FM, and affiliates of the North Carolina News Network will air the series the weekend of April 11th and 12th. The series will also be available online starting April 13th. Visit: http://www.ncnn.com/content/view/86/99/.
WRAL-TV will air its next Focal Point documentary, “Here to Help” about the challenges of the recession & resources to help in North Carolina on Wed, Apr 15th at 7pm. |
