The series is hosted by radio and television personality Donn Ansell and each week, focuses on the news and issues of the Lower Cape Fear region. Guests have ranged from government officials such as Wilmington Mayor Bill Saffo to Miss USA Kristen Dalton. Actress Linda Lavin and musician Randy Jones of The Village People have also joined the show!
The 100th episode featured guest Jim Leutze, the co-chair of the Offshore Energy Exploration Legislative Research Committee. Leutze discussed his take on offshore drilling off the coast of North Carolina.
What would a celebration be without a cake? |
Director Steve Klem, Shawn Fayle, Cyndal Russell and Angie Bryant are the WILM employees who work most closely with Ansell to ensure Byline: Wilmington’s success.
When the show’s taping wrapped up, the festivities began, and the station enjoyed a celebratory Byline: Wilmington cake with Ansell.
“It hardly seems like we have already done 100 episodes of Byline: Wilmington,” Donn Ansell said when asked how he felt about his show reaching the 100 mark. “What a privilege it is to work with such a great staff who care so much about what we are doing and collaborate so well together. It’s easy to stay inspired with so many more stories to tell and so many interesting people to talk to.”
