Triangle area football coaches and players descended upon WRAL-TV’s Studio A for the annual HighSchoolOT.com Kickoff on Friday, July 29, 2016. Not only did the athletes and their mentors learn about the usual fall coverage of their scores, but the crowd became the first to hear about the brand new online show that will provide live coverage of a handful of games each week, HighSchoolOT Live.
“Everything went very well for the kickoff,” said WRAL-TV Assignment Editor Kelly Riner, who helped coordinate the event and will be producing the live show. “The coaches I spoke with are very excited about this opportunity to showcase high school talent. The players also seemed eager to learn more about the new show. We had a great turnout. We also got to meet some of our staff for the show. I think it’s going to be a talented team, and it’s definitely going to take a village to make this endeavor happen. We are excited and ready make history as we launch a show like no other currently being produced at any local TV station.”
HighSchoolOT Live will run live each Friday night this fall beginning at 6:55pm and running until at least 10pm, live on HighSchoolOT.com, the free HighSchoolOT.com mobile application, and on the WRAL application for Roku and Amazon Fire. The audio from the show will be streamed live each Friday night on 99.9 The Fan beginning at 7 p.m.
