Dara Torres, Patrick Kinas & Dana Vollmer
From DBBC’s Patrick Kinas: So when you include all of my medals, this picture represents a grand total of 18 Olympic medals. Total rock stars – Dara Torres & Dana Vollmer.

He called the action as the most decorated Olympian of all time helped his team win gold in the Men’s 4×100 relay, he announced the grudge match win by U.S. swimmer Lilly King took down Russia’s Yulia Efimova in the 100-meter breaststroke.  All that while sitting in a broadcast booth with 5-time U.S. Olympic swimmer Dara Torres, winner of 12 medals.  Durham Bulls Radio Announcer/Account Executive Patrick Kinas is a long way from the ballpark.

As Kinas serves as the play-by-play announcer for the Olympic swimming events on Westwood One radio, he is sharing his adventure of a lifetime on social media.

“Totally surpassed even my childhood expectations!” posted Kinas on Saturday, August 6, the first day of Olympic swimming competition.  “And we’re just through one day. 15 more to go, and a Phelps sighting tonight. Really appreciate everyone’s thoughts – they mean everything!”

Earlier this week we shared his pix and posts from his pre-Olympic experience.  Today Capcom shares photos and comments from Kinas after the Games have begun:

Patrick Kinas & Dara Torres
From DBBC’s Patrick Kinas: Dara and I are clearly feeling the pressure of calling four gold medal Olympic events in an hour.
Vinicius
From DBBC’s Patrick Kinas: Had a spare minute to grab my first ‪#‎Rio2016‬‬ souvenir. Meet Vinicius, the official mascot of the 2016 Rio Games. I have no idea how much it cost, but had random Brazilian money in my wallet, so welcome to the family!
Patrick Kinas , Chase Kalisz & family
From DBBC’s Patrick Kinas: So in my first-ever Olympic gold-medal race, here’s the American who won silver. Congrats to Chase Kalisz, finishing 2nd in the men’s 400m IM. An incredible story from being paralyzed and in a coma when 8yo to an Olympic silver medalist 14 years later. He and his parents making the rounds at NBC’s compound for interviews, including one with NBC Radio/Westwood One. Great moment.
French fans
From DBBC’s Patrick Kinas: French family getting ready to scream for Manadou and company in the men’s 4×100 freestyle relay in a couple of hours.
Mark Spitz & Patrick Kinas
From DBBC’s Patrick Kinas: Just hanging at the Olympics with my buddy Mark Spitz. This truly is an amazing experience. Stars and legends everywhere you turn.
Dara Torres, Swedish commentator & Patrick Kinas
From DBBC’s Patrick Kinas: Busy few days, so haven’t posted too many pics lately, so now, at 2am after another 16 hour day, here are a few more Rio moments through my eyes (and my iPad): A Swedish commentator hustled to us to interview Dara Torres, who is legendary in any country. And now we’re Twitter buddies.
Amanda Borden
From DBBC’s Patrick Kinas: Behind the glass is Olympic gold medalist Amanda Borden cutting some sound after the men’s gymnastics team event today.
Dara Torres & Dana Vollmer
From DBBC’s Patrick Kinas: Here’s Dara and Dana Vollmer, who has already won a silver in the 4×100 free relay and a bronze in the 100 fly. Oh, she also had a baby 17 months ago. No big deal…
American spirit
From DBBC’s Patrick Kinas: A little American spirit from the Rio Olympic Park. They were there supporting an American fencer.
Big guns
From DBBC’s Patrick Kinas: Lots of big guys with big guns here. Everywhere. Outside view of the Olympic Aquatics Stadium.
Olympic rings
From DBBC’s Patrick Kinas: Olympic Rings located all around the grounds. Free to take a picture, but often long lines.
Olympic Aquatics Stadium
From DBBC’s Patrick Kinas: Outside view of the Olympic Aquatics Stadium.
Media bus
From DBBC’s Patrick Kinas: Media bus after Monday’s last event carrying everyone back to the IBC. Pretty sure they set the World Record for most people on a bus. I waited for the next one.
American 4x100 free relay team
From DBBC’s Patrick Kinas: American 4×100 free relay team as they marched around the pool following winning gold. That’s Caeleb Dressel wearing the flag and Michael Phelps on the far right.
Caeleb Dressel
From DBBC’s Patrick Kinas: Not sure Dressel has let go of the flag yet.
Sylvia Poll & Patrick Kinas
From DBBC’s Patrick Kinas: 1988 bronze medalist Sylvia Poll, who swam for Costa Rica. She’s a commentator for CR and Brazil for the Olympics.
NBC broadcast location
From DBBC’s Patrick Kinas: NBC’s broadcast location and set-up.
