WRAL-FM Radiothon Raises $780k for Duke Children |

WRAL-FM MIX 101.5 drew its 10th Annual Radiothon for the kids at Duke Children’s Hospital to a close at 6pm on Sunday, September 7, 2003, by presenting a $781,095.20 check to the Hospital. The amount included pledges from listeners only, an impressive feat considering the six-figure sum came from individual donations.
“Almost $800,000, we don’t have any corporate sponsors. They’re all MIX listeners giving $20 here, $200 there. It all adds up, and that’s a lot of money,” said MIX Personality Sheri Logan said.
The Radiothon ran for four days, beginning Thursday, September 4th. The MIX team broadcast live from Duke and made the check presentation at the Streets of Southpoint.
