City of Raleigh Paul Y. Coble, Mayor PROCLAMATION
Whereas, for 28 years Bill Jordan has done his utmost to destroy radio as a viable entertainment medium, the last 11 of which have been inflicted on the good people who otherwise have the good sense to listen to WRAL-FM; and,
Whereas, he is a loving son, loving husband of Marianne, loving father of Jessica, and devoted guardian of the Jordan Wild Kingdom; and,
Whereas, as an aficionado of Agent 007, a faithful failure at golf, a champion snorer, a slick pilferer of Mike and Ike’s at the Ten-Ten buffet, and a worshipful observer of Duke basketball; and,
Whereas, he is a legend among the fairer sex, ruling with savoir faire and raw majestic machismo over the denizens of the Estrogen Den – Schatzie and Angela; and,
Whereas, in his mind he is the New Age’s Fred Astaire, even though his terminal case of White Man’s Disease – which is medically defined as a thorough and absolute lack of rhythm – has prohibited him from EVER, NOT ONCE, THAT MEANS NEVER fast-dancing with his wife; and,
Whereas, he is a committed Christian who has helped raise millions of dollars for the Duke Children’s Hospital and is an active participant in Habitat for Humanity, Make-A-Wish Foundation, the Tammy Lynn Center and WRAL-TV’s Coats for the Children.
Now, therefore do I, Paul Y. Coble, Mayor of the City of Raleigh, hereby proclaim December 15, 2000
Bill Jordan Day
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have set my hand and caused the Great Seal of the City of Raleigh, North Carolina, to be affixed this Fifteenth Day of December 2000.
